Gambier trustees adopt bylaw enforcement policy and seek changes
The committee adopted a policy and asked staff to prepare a draft amendment limiting investigations to complaints and reporting files closed as vexatious.

The Gambier Island Local Trust Committee adopted a Bylaw Compliance and Enforcement Policy at its June 24 meeting, then asked staff to prepare a draft amendment that would limit investigations to infractions identified in a complaint and require reports on files closed as vexatious.[1]
The committee also rescinded two standing resolutions, GM-2023-001 and GM-2020-006, after adopting the policy.[1]
The Bylaw Compliance and Enforcement Manager told the committee the policy brings existing standing resolutions into one document and addresses vexatious complaints; trustees were told they can adopt their own policies and have authority to close files.[1]
