The committee voted to defer the public hearing on proposed Keats shoreline bylaws Nos. 153 and 154, scheduled for November 21, to a date in 2024, and asked staff to schedule an electronic special meeting to discuss further amendments to Bylaw No. 154.[1]
The minutes say trustees discussed community feedback and proposed changes to the draft bylaw, and asked Trustee Joe Bernardo to prepare a list of items needing further discussion, clarification or change.[1]
The committee also heard a presentation from Connected Coast about bringing cable ashore on Keats Island. Staff said the Marine General zone does not permit public utilities or structures other than navigational aids, so a rezoning would be required; staff said the committee had not received an application.[1]
The minutes record that trustees supported expediting a rezoning application, while staff said the project would be considered alongside other application work once an application was received.[1]
